What personal data do we process?

Information you provide

Personal data you provide when registering for our products and services, responding to questionnaires or surveys, or contacting our customer service or other staff at Techtum via contact forms or directly via phone or email.

Information gathered automatically from digital channels

When you use our website, our customer portal and when you open e-mails from us, web server/IP address logs, cookies and web beacons are saved. Web beacons, cookies and other tracking technologies are used to collect more information about how you use the website and/or interactive emails. The purpose is to improve usability for you. By voluntarily providing information that allows you to be identified, for example by sending e-mails, these automatic tracking technologies can be used.

To the extent that we process personal data to optimize websites, we do so based on a balancing of interests between our legitimate interest in being able to develop and monitor the use of the website and your interest in not giving away your data. We use tracking technologies to track the use of our websites and in this system the data is saved only for as long as necessary from the time we collected it.

IP addresses

An IP address is a number that your computer is assigned every time you use the Internet. All computer identification on the Internet is done using IP addresses, which enable computers and servers to recognize and communicate with each other. Techtum collects IP addresses for system administration and reports aggregate information to affiliates and marketing business partners to conduct website analytics and check website performance and usage of various pages (visit statistics). By logging into our digital channels, Techtum can also follow your individual activities.

Mobile Tracking

Our website is available as a mobile website that you can use on your mobile device. If you use a mobile device to access and use our website, we may collect the following mobile-specific information in addition to the other information described above: device or advertising ID, device type, hardware type, media access control (“MAC”) address, international mobile equipment identity (“IMEI”), the version of your mobile operating system, the platform used to access or download the Techtum website (e.g., Apple, Google, Windows), location information and usage information about your device and your use of the Techtum website.

Cookies

A “cookie” is a small text-based data file that is automatically placed on your computer’s hard drive when you visit certain websites. Cookies give the server a unique identification of your browser. With the help of cookies, we can store information on the server that gives you a better web experience and enables us to perform website analyses and check website performance and usage. Most browsers are set to accept cookies, but you can change the settings so that the reader does not do so or so that you are notified when a cookie is sent to your computer; however, cookies can allow you to take advantage of some of the website’s essential features, which may not work if you reject cookies.

Web beacons

For certain web pages or e-mails, Techtum may use a common Internet technology called “web beacon” (also known as “action tag” or “clear GIF” technology). Web beacons make it easier to analyze how effective websites are by measuring the number of visitors or how many visitors click on important elements on a website.

Processing of aggregated information

In some cases, we remove personal identification from information you provide to us and retain the information in aggregated form after the retention period expires in order to compare website usage and performance over time. If we do, we no longer process your personal data. We may combine this anonymized information with other information that is produced anonymously, aggregated statistical information (for example, number of visitors and domain name of the visitor’s Internet provider) that can help us improve our products and services.

Links to other websites

Our digital channels contain links to websites, social media and more that may offer additional information to our visitors. Other channels may also, with or without Techtum’s consent, link to our digital channels. This privacy policy does not apply to channels where Techtum is not the information owner. We recommend that you communicate directly with the person behind each channel if you want information about their policy for protecting your personal data.

Information collected from other sources

We may combine information about you from our digital channels including social media (for example LinkedIn), information collected offline or from external parties.
